Why the Warriors are Unbeatable This Year

Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Steph Curry.

That's part of why the Warriors are unbeatable this year, to be frank. The Warriors just have an incredible system going for them. They are the perfect powerhouse, and display exactly what you want your team to look like after a rebuild. The Warriors right now are standing at the top of the NBA in first place as they've won 14 of their 16 games, which is absurd to say the least. Curry is averaging 29 a game, and he's actually had at least 3 games this year where he also has dropped 9 threes in a game. Let me rephrase that because I don't think you caught that. I'm a Houston Rockets fan and I've seen James Harden catch fire and completely take over a basketball game. In doing so, he has had around 8 games in his career where he makes 9 3-point shots in the game. That's insane, it's really an incredible milestone for a player. Steph has already done this 3 times. THAT IS NOT NORMAL PEOPLE! HE HAS HAD A GAME WITH 9 THREE POINTERS THREE DIFFERENT TIMES AND THE SEASON JUST STARTED!

Although, you see, the difference maker for the Warriors isn't only Steph. Someone really being overlooked, or criminally under appreciated because I love using that phrase, is Andrew Wiggins as he's the Warriors leader in points after Steph. He's averaging about 18 points along with Jordan Poole who is averaging 17 points a game. Draymond is doing all of the dirty work that only he can do such as set screens all over the place, bring the ball up, run plays, orchestrate the offense and tell players where they need to be, and he does so much more. I want to make it clear how important Jordan Poole, Damion Lee, and Kevon Looney are to the Warriors. The Warriors have the best development coaches in the NBA. You look at those guys and just realize how systemically important they are to the team. It works like a car, every single part is just as important because they all reflect on the other's performance. If your tires aren't doing their job, then your car isn't going to do as well. If Draymond is low energy and isn't double checking where the young guys are on offense or defense, then the team's gonna play with less momentum and problems will start for them.

Here is, in my opinion, the most entertaining aspect as to why the Warriors function so well and really are able to score so many points at ease(They're leading the league in points per game at 113.). A casual NBA fan may look at the Warriors and say "Oh they're so good, they have Steph, Draymond's great too, and Steve Kerr is a good coach". I am no casual and I'm going to dive a little deeper and show you how easy it really is for the Warriors to win all of these games.

How do the Warriors score so many points? They seem to make it look so easy? Why is that?

First of all, they have a lot of weapons on their team and don't have any weak spots. For example, say you're playing the Lakers or the Heat. They're high profile teams and will fight, but they ultimately have little weak spots that can be exposed. They tend to lack in shooting at times, ball movement, and fluidity in the offense they run. That doesn't happen with the Warriors as they are in a way, an upgraded Greg Popovich-offense. They have a system and they stick to it no matter what. Here is the most important part that I have discovered. I have done some research to find out what teams generate the easiest shots for their offense. An easy shot is one where the nearest defender is 5-6 feet away. This set of research really depicts how well a team is playing. The team that has the highest frequency of getting wide open shots is the Oklahoma City Thunder, although they are being left open for different reasons than the Warriors are. It appears that a lot of teams let guys on the Thunder shoot or maybe they actually run an incredibly efficient offense and generate great shots. Probably the first one. 30% of the Thunder's shots are wide open, but the difference is that they don't have the players or shooters to make the defense pay. Standing at third is the team that has everything they need to make a team look ridiculous for leaving the shooter open, the Golden State Warriors. That is why the Warriors make their buckets look so much easier than a team like the 2017-18 Rockets with Chris Paul and James Harden going iso-ball and working to get separation. Ball movement, guys knowing what they're supposed to do, Draymond checking that everyone is doing their job, and Steph being Steph is what's going to get the Warriors their championship.

I also have to add to all the people who don't think the Warriors are going to win the championship. I just provided facts to show that the Warriors are up there with teams that get the most open shots and shoot very well from three, are also adding Klay Thompson. How are they not winning the championship this year? That is all.
